De Title Dining Cabin

Friday 15 July 2011

De Title dining cabin is a little cafe located in lorong selamat.
it's not very hard to spot.
the restaurants in a really striking purple!

the environment of this cafe is really pretty.
the deco and interior is nicely decorated.
when entering this cafe you will feel really cozy.
there's two parts to this cafe.
the dining area and the mini buffet area.
for the buffet you'll just have to add RM1.50 to your main course to enjoy free flow of soup, cookies and desserts!
it's really worth it in my opinion.

Dining Area.

buffet area

bar.

mushroom soup and bread.
i don't know if we were unlucky for that day or was it meant to be that way.
the soup was really peppery that day.
it had a real nice mushroom soup taste to it
but the pepper ruined the soup.

Drinks!
Top : virgin pina colada. RM 6.90
the virgin pina colada was nice.
i liked it.
Bottom : Apple & AloeVera RM 5.90
it was too diluted and it tasteless.

Spagetti Chicken Bolognese RM 13.90
really nice tomato flavor to it
what bolognese should taste like.

Pasta Aglio Olio RM 13.90
nice and simple.
it's a simple pasta with no sauce and fresh herbs.
pasta was so-so.

Macaroni Alla Carbonara RM 12.90
a must try!
cheese wasn't too overpowering.
the right amount of cheezyness.

Desserts!
the purple jelly is the only jelly that is nice.
don't bother trying the other jellies.
they have popsicles too!
and ice cream. :)

COOKIES!
they even have a little oven for you to bake the bread!
but we used it to warm the cookies.
if you happen to go there do try this method! :D

Overall, i would come back to this place.
food is good and the atmosphere is nice too.
try it for yourself and let me know what you think! :)

Harvest In

opened for quite awhile.
whether it's lunch with your clique or just tea for two.
harvest in is a place for good food and good company.

had dinner the other day with a couple of friends.
if you go for dinner there's a choice to upgrade your meal to a set for RM4.90
the set consists of soup, drinks and dessert.

the soup comes with a bun.
soup was pretty decent.

the drinks
left : Iced Lemon Tea
Right : Iced Peach Tea

i ordered the Honey Mustard Chicken.
i like the taste of the sauce and how they compliment one another.
it comes with vegetables and buttered rice.

my friend ordered the Cajun Chicken.
it comes with a special yellow sauce which is really tasty.
side orders for this dish is vegetables with rice.

there is a choice of 2 desserts.
jelly or cake.
the cake is the little small thing you see in the picture. the bottom one.
the dessert was the let down of the meal.

overall, i like this place and food is pretty adequate too.
good place to have dinner.
but i do warn you that the menu price for dinner and lunch are both different.
it's slightly more expensive during the night.

Sri Ananda

Wednesday 6 July 2011

for our next review, let's go to a place that's been opened for years now!
had tea with a friend.
Sri Ananda is located in Tanjung Bungah
it's right opposite of paradise hotel.
it sells a variety of indian food.
if you're in the neighborhood, i recommend you give this place a try.
the weather in penang is taking a toll
so you might find it a little warm here.
but other than that, the food is pretty good.

Top : cows milk (RM2.00) the milk is really nice and full of flavor.
Bottom : Lime Water (RM1.20) the lime water was also pretty good.

This is the Plain Naan Set (RM9.00)
it comes with 2plain naans and one chicken tandoori with some gravy and chicpeas.
the tandoori here is better than the ones i've even had before.

My friend has a really special weird way of eating her tandoori naan set.
she wraps the nicely cut tandoori chicken with the naan then she eats it.
you are all welcome to try her way of eating it. :D

this is the Garlic naan. (RM3.50)
it only comes with 2 garlic naan and gravy with chicpeas.
for me this was a little too strong
the garlic was too overpowering.

this is the Palak Paneer (RM8.00)
i know it looks a little gross.
but BELIEVE me it's not.
it's cheese cubes topped with a spinach topping.
the flavors just really compliment one another
*tamchaiksMUSTTRYdish*

overall, the food is pretty decent and it's a really nice place to chill with friends.
just make sure you don't go when it's blazing hot outside.
but they could work on their customer service.

Meal Xpress

MEAL XPRESS

hey there. so we are back for another review!
my other blogger suggests this place for our next review
the name of the shop was called "Meal Xpress"
it's a recently opened restaurant in New World Park.
the gimmick of this restaurant was having a plastic container with 4 compartments.
filling it with the dishes they have available. it cost RM5.99 per container.

so let us go to the food now.
we went to this restaurant with our fellow college mates.
everyone had the same opinion on this restaurant. "IT SUCKS"
well to be honest it was pretty bad.

above are a few pictures of the food.
you might think that there were some food that were not bad and all.
but i assure there was none that we could defend for.
fish balls were like choking weapons and the food was all very cold.

as you can see there are a few compartments with different sizes right?
well lets say you over fill the container and it cant be closed properly,
they charge you an extra RM3.
oh ya, be careful not to put the rice in the smaller container.
unless you want to get a lecture by the cashier worker.

would you pay RM5.99 for THIS???
i think not.

their slogan was "hungry no more!"
yeah i'm pretty sure you've lost your appetite by this restaurant before you even start eating.

so as an overall review, i would definitely not visit this place ever again.
and for such food i would think the price is a little too expensive.

Oh Sushi!

Tuesday 5 July 2011

if you happen to live near tanjung bungah
you've most probably heard of the recently opened OH SUSHI in Straits Quay
i've heard of many comments about this place but i just had to go to try for myself.

OH SUSHI! :D

the menu is filled with many varieties of dishes.
i had a taste in the few dishes that they had to offer.

This was the salmon oyako mori
it's a platter of raw salmon and salmon roe.
i enjoyed the salmon roe but the raw salmon was a little too soft for me.

this is the Alburi Salmon Mentai
it's a salmon sushi with salmon roe on top.
but the special part of this sushi was that they blow torched the top of the sushi
it made the sushi tasted a little burnt.

Soft Shell Crab Handroll!
this was awesome.
the soft shell crab was very soft yet crunchy.

this is the Kana Cream Korokke
it's a mash up of potatoes and other vegetables and fried till golden brown.
it was very nice. there was a little cheese flavor which really fitted in.

this is the Ebi Tempura Tamar Ni
it might look very unappetizing here.
but looks can be deceiving. it was actually pretty good.
it has 2 tempura fried prawns cooked with onions and egg with this sauce.
you have to try it for yourself to really know how good it is.

This was one of Oh sushis specials.
it's Chicken Avocado Grill
you can see from the top that it has little avocado and prawn bits.
i actually find the chicken a little dry and hard to chew.
but the sauce was good.
but i wouldn't order this the next time i go there.

this is the Salmon Haraji
in the menu it's actually only the salmon.
but you can make it a set which comes with miso soup, cawanmushi, rice and a salad.
to upgrade to a set you just have to add RM10
the fish was seasoned nicely and was not overcooked.
so overall was pretty pleased with it.

this is the Salmon Head.
before you even start eating it you can smell the aroma of the fish
this is a definite must try dish!
try it for yourself to see! :D

that was all that we had.
overall there were some dishes that are good and some that were just nott.
but overall i will come back to this place again.
service was good and the environment was pretty cozy too.
one thing tho, the portion of the food was pretty small.
